Who we are
Our mission is to ensure the professional training of future court reporters through a fast, efficient and accessible learning method, in order to make up for the lack of bilingual, anglophone and francophone court reporters in Québec. We are committed to training future court reporters, who will act as officers of justice and officers of the Superior Court and are qualified to meet the challenges of the profession.
Our teachers and program managers have accumulated over 45 years of experience in court reporting, have touched all areas of their profession and are committed to the sustainability of court reporting in Québec.
We’ll guide you through your training until you obtain your certificate in court reporting from the Court Reporting Academy of Québec, and will ensure that you have all the skills necessary to succeed.
Our faculty
Denise Turcot
- Bilingual official court reporter accredited and active since 1995
- Commissioner of Oaths since 1995
- Holds an Attestation of College Studies in stenotype (Stenograph) from Lasalle College obtained in 1995
- Holds a Certificate in Practical Translation from the Université du Québec à Hull obtained in 1989
- Member in good standing of the Association professionnelle des sténographes officiels du Québec since 1995
- Member of the Board of Directors of the Association professionnelle des sténographes officiels du Québec for several terms, from 1998 to 2019, in the position of director, first vice‐president and president.
- Member in good standing of the National Verbatim Reporters Association since 2018
- Member of the Comité sur la sténographie in 2018
Caroline Morand
- French official court reporter accredited and active since 1997
- Commissioner of Oaths since 1997
- Holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa obtained with honors in 1997
- Holds 12 credits towards completing a Certificate in Writing from the Université de Montréal (completed courses: De la grammaire au style, La phrase, La ponctuation, Le lexique: particularités et difficultés, Le verbe, Techniques d’écriture and Rédaction et communications publiques)
- Member in good standing of the Association professionnelle des sténographes officiels du Québec since 1997
- Member of the Board of Directors of the Association professionnelle des sténographes officiels du Québec for several terms, from 1999 to 2019, in the position of director, secretary, treasurer, first vice-president and president.
- Member in good standing of the National Verbatim Reporters Association since 2018
